Was out cycling 6.06 km in 34m:10s using Endomondo.

Pain at the ball of the heel … Plantar Faciitis … that’s what I was told. The tendon joining the heel bone and the toes has micro tears which causes the discomfort. I have not done much walking or jogging this year because of this.

I think I made a right choice to get a folding bike to ride to keep myself active and break some sweat a few times in a week.

My only concern is next month’s Energizer Night Run. I don’t know if I could participate in the event. I have already signed up. Deep inside I’d go and if I cannot run I’ll just walk the 11km.

Before 13/02/2011, the last time I rode a bicycle was thirty years ago. Last month, I decided to join a few of my friends cycling around Putrajaya. My friends really wanted me to ride with them, that they pooled their resources and lent me a bike, safety helmet and gloves. Like people say, you won’t forget how to ride a bike.

I rode for 20km that day around the nation’s administrative capital and here are some photos to remember the day by …

A very futuristic vision of glass technology. I am not sure if the technologies in the video are already available, in development or just a concept or idea …. whatever it is this video is cool to watch.

The E90 communicator successor … that was the first thought that came to me the moment my buddy Asri Al-Baker of www.i-symbian.com handed me a review unit of the Nokia E7.

I had two Nokia communicators before, the Nokia 9500 and the Nokia 9300, and flipping the E7 brought my thoughts back to the “commies” I had use. The large display. The mini keyboard. All very familiar.

I am using a Nokia N8 now, so I have already expected the sturdy build quality of the E7. Sliding the display part of the E7 reveals a nicely arranged “chiclet” type keyboard which is quite comfortable to use. The keys are a little bit small to my liking but the spacing of the keys is just right. People with large thumbs, like yours truly here, should be able to thumb type on this comfortably. Having said that, however, as far as smartphones keyboard goes, I like the ones on the 9500 communictor best. Read the rest of this entry »

2011 Running Calendar.

Posted: 22 February, 2011 in Babbles & Rants

Already registered for the Energizer Night Run this coming April and a moment ago just completed the online registration for the Standard Chartered KL Marathon. Both will be a 10K race and I don’t see myself running a Half Marathon yet. One of the main reason I registered for such races is to create a purpose for me to go out and train. Everytime I go out running in the morning, I have a sense of purpose … Training for the races. I plan to run only three races this year. I have already signed up for two, the other one I plan to sign up will be the Siemens run, sometime in the third quarter of the year. Well maybe another races at the end of the year.

16th April 2011 will be the Eneegizer Night Run. My chance to run on the Sepang F1 race track. A couple of months after that- 26th June will be the StanChart KL Marathon. I had fun last year, so I’d take part again this year for another fun event.

There’s a 10K Bangi Run this weekend. Still undecided to participate or not but will go register on the spot if I feel up to it on Saturday.

Angry birds is not much of a game, for me at least. However, I find the game good as a stress reliever. You don’t have to bee too engaged in the game. Launch the birds to kill the pigs. That’s about it. The more stressfull I am the longer I play Angry Birds. Otherwise I’ll play the game only for a short period time. Could not kill all the pigs? … no worries … I just turn off the game and play again some other time.

The latest installment Angry Birds Rio could have a different game play, based on the “game trailer” …

A new stress buster game for me when the game comes around in a couple of months …
